NEWS ABOUT THE ISTANBUL NEW AIRPORT
The transference from Atatürk Airport to Istanbul New Airport will be completed in less than 48 hours. It is planned on Oct. 30 and 31, immediately after the long-awaited opening ceremony to be held on Oct. 29.
From then, Istanbul Grand Airport, the world’s largest airport, will host 35 landings and 35 departures per hour.
The great opening will be a magnificent ceremony on Turkey’s Republic Day with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and other relevant state members in attendance.
As it had been pacted, foreign airlines will not fly to Istanbul for two days, Oct. 30 and 31. In the other hand, Turkish Airlines plans to not fly for at least the first 18 hours of the transition, but will schedule take offs from old Atatürk Airport and landings at Istanbul New Airport.
